A few years ago I had a case of Labyrinthitis; two days ago I had a mild attack
I have been in bed unable to much for the last two days. I did get someone to reply to a couple of messages for me; however, I was useless.
To those who don’t know what Labyrinthitis is; I guess the best way to describe it is via the NHS website.
Labyrinthitis is an inner ear infection. It causes a delicate structure deep inside your ear called the labyrinth to become inflamed, affecting your hearing and balance.
I will say it is awful. The first time I had it; I was off work for almost a month; every time I lifted my head off my pillow I was sick; so basic needs such as going to the toilet was an event I did not look forward to completing. The silly thing though; my appetite wasn’t affected.
Thankfully this recent bought has started to go; though is still causing me to seek my bed hourly. For those who want to experience the sensation of having Labyrinthitis; go on a roundabout and get someone to spin until you feel sick. Then get off and try walking. Your coordination is shot away, and the motion makes you want to vomit.
To all those sufferers out there; you have my deepest sympathy.
